Our tips for choosing the right bachelor's programme
Are you interested in the University of Vienna and still looking for the right degree programme? The pages linked here will help you discover the wide range of degree programmes offered by the University of Vienna and give you useful advice on how to make your choice of degree programme easier.
Firstly, you should think about where your interests and strengths lie. Various career interest tests and self-assesment tools can help you with this. In a second step, you can then compare which degree programme best suits your career aspirations, preferred fields of activity and areas of interest. To do this, it makes sense to check the curricula of the individual degree programmes in terms of the content being taught and to take a look at the current fields of activity of former graduates in our graduate tracking.
If you are not yet sure what to expect from a university, or if you are not sure whether a university degree is right for you, we also have offers for you.
- Browse through the section University in a nutshell. Here you can find a general overview as well as various introductory videos and student testimonials. It may also be worth taking a look at the Welcome Guide of the University of Vienna. - With uni:check, you can test your knowledge about life as a student and your expectations about studying at a university in a questionnaire. You will then receive comprehensive personalised feedback, tips and further information.

The Accessible Studying Team supports students and faculty in finding suitable solutions for any particular situation, taking into account the specific needs and capabilities of each individual.
Do you need counselling?
We offer you various counselling services and contact options
Have you already researched the degree programmes offered at the University of Vienna by yourself, but are still not quite sure what to study? Do you have questions about the programme content, procedures and surrounding issues? We are here for you!
Personal counselling cannot replace the need for individual research into the options available when choosing a degree programme. However, it does have one decisive advantage: as the interaction with another person offers the opportunity to ask more precise questions, your own expectations, goals and concerns can be better addressed. You should therefore take advantage of the various counselling services offered by the University of Vienna as well as external counselling institutions.
Visit us at an education fair!
At the following events, you can find out more about the different degree programmes and connect with students from the individual faculties. The Faculty of Social Sciences is also widely represented here.
As the students themselves are right in the middle of university life, they can provide helpful insights into everyday student life as well as key information about the individual degree programmes. They were also faced with the decision of choosing a degree programme relatively recently and know the considerations that go into such a decision.

- UniOrientiert - The open days for prospective students
- unileben - The fair to get you started with your studies (german) as part of our Welcome-Weeks
